What Are Transaction Tags?
Transaction tags help you organize and track specific groups of expenses across different categories and time periods. Think of tags as digital labels that help you group related expenses together, regardless of their spending category.
How to Use Tags
You can create tags for any purpose, such as:
- Tracking vacation expenses (e.g., "Hawaii 2025")
- Managing project costs (e.g., "Home Renovation")
- Following special event spending (e.g., "Wedding Planning")
- Monitoring business expenses (e.g., "Work Travel")
For example, if you're planning a vacation to Hawaii, you can tag all related expenses including:
- Flight bookings
- Hotel reservations
- Restaurant meals
- Activity bookings
- Transportation costs
Creating Tags
Adding or Removing Tags
- Open any transaction
- Click the "Tag >" button
- Select existing tags or create new ones
- Save your changes
Managing Your Tags
- Go to the Spending homepage
- Scroll to the bottom
- Select "Spending Settings"
- Delete, edit or add tags from there
Tips for Effective Tagging
- Use consistent naming for related expenses
- Create tags before major events or projects
- Review and update tags regularly
- Remove unused tags to keep organized
